Dr Jan Scharfenberg, LL.M. (Stellenbosch) has been Director of Information Security at ISiCO GmbH since 2024. He has extensive expertise in information security law. He specialises in supporting the development of information security management systems (ISMS), in particular in the context of compliance with relevant regulations such as DORA, NIS2, BSI-G, KRITIS-VO and Cyber Resilience Act. Dr Scharfenberg and his team also support ISMS certification projects in accordance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz, C5, TISAX and B3S and carry out audits and maturity measurements with regard to the level of information security in companies. With a strong understanding of risk management and platform regulation and industry knowledge for various industrial sectors such as health, energy, automotive, banking and finance, Dr Scharfenberg offers tailor-made solutions for our clients.
Dr Scharfenberg is a qualified lawyer. He worked for more than 13 years as a lawyer for a major international law firm. He then headed the legal and compliance department of an IT start-up belonging to an international insurance group for 4 years.
